Global mobility leader Bombardier Transportation and Zurich Public Transport operator VBZ have signed a contract for 40 additional BOMBARDIER FLEXITY low-floor trams for Zurich. This is part of an option from the contract awarded to Bombardier by VBZ in March 2017 for 70 FLEXITY trams with an option for a further 70. Today’s option for 40 additional trams is valued at approximately 172 million Swiss Francs (160 million euro, $194 million US), excluding VAT.

Alstom has successfully conducted the first test-run for Mostaganem tramway project. During this phase, Alstom’s tramways have run from the secondary storage park T2 section to SNTF station, around 2km.
Global mobility technology leader Bombardier Transportation announced today that it has signed a contract with Mosaic Transit Partners Maintenance GP (MTM) to provide 30 years of maintenance services for the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Toronto. Under the agreement, Bombardier will maintain a fleet of light rail vehicles as well as wayside track and overhead catenary system assets for the new LRT line scheduled to be completed in 2023.
Since May 2019, the Voith CargoFlex has been successfully deployed in day-to-day operations at SBB Cargo, a subsidiary of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). For this purpose, the 25 locomotives and 100 wagons were equipped with 200 rail-car and 50 hybrid couplers from Voith.
The UIC (International Union of Railways) and Railnet Europe (RNE) have joined up to launch the initiative “Translate4Rail” and have developed a prototype for a language tool that does away with language barriers. The Rail Cargo Group is one of the key players testing out this tool.
Global mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation has announced today that it has signed a framework agreement with Porterbrook, the UK rolling stock company, to fit digital onboard signalling to BOMBARDIER ELECTROSTAR trains in the UK.
