ClickFit Bracketry Solves Complex Cable Troughing Fit
CCS' specially developed ClickFit bracketry helped ensure a successful outcome during a complicated installation of our ARCOSYSTEM cable containment system.

The job was to attach a run of the ARCO cable troughing to trackside noise barriers in the town of Friesenheim in south-west Germany. The troughing couldn’t be simply ground-mounted via posts into a concrete strip, and therefore needed to be clamped to the vertical barriers, often within very tight spaces.
Our specially designed ClickFit bracketry, a new addition to our bespoke range of laser-cut brackets that support the cable troughing at various angles, was used to complete the project. The innovative ClickFit brackets are made with a powerful spring effect, allowing the troughing cells to be simply clicked into place with a satisfying snap, as opposed to the on-site operatives having to slide the troughs into the shoes of the brackets. This resulted in a much quicker and easier installation.
Some of the bracket designs were intricately developed with special parts to navigate the especially complex bypass sections of the cable route, showcasing the engineering adaptability of ARCOSYSTEM compared to more rigid cable management alternatives. In certain places the brackets needed to be attached to HEA 160 and 180 beams in order to be safely clamped to the noise barriers, work that required detailed planning and drawings.
The troughing and lids of ARCOSYSTEM are manufactured from pultruded glass fibre reinforced polymers (GRP/FRP) in association with our Swiss partners Castioni Kabelführungssysteme GmbH. This composite construction provides long-term durability in all weathers, with a constant working temperature range from -40˚C to +80˚C. Its sturdy yet lightweight design means ARCO can be installed speedily and efficiently, spanning up to 6m between supports. The specialist bracketry, complemented further by the new ClickFit design, allows the troughing to be easily adjusted for height and directional changes during a tricky route.
