HS2’s first two giant Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) have arrived in the UK and will be ready to start work on the UK’s largest infrastructure project early next year.
Anding Tunnel, the longest along the China-Laos Railway, designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., was cut through on November 28, laying the foundation for the completion of the entire railway on schedule.
Today, in the presence of Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and the Business Unit German Cities at Bombardier, Dirk Wunderlich, the Board Members of Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (DVB) Andreas Hemmersbach and Lars Seiffert, accepted the car body shell of the first new light rail vehicle (LRV) for Dresden, Germany. Bombardier Transportation began building the first vehicle at the Görlitz site in August this year.
The Joint Venture comprised of the Spanish engineering companies, Ardanuy and Ayesa, has been awarded the electrification project for the Estonian rail network. The project is being managed by the Estonian railway authority, Esti Raudtee (EVR).
Alstom has been awarded the contract by Toulouse Metropole for the system for the third and new 27 km metro line, called Toulouse Aerospace Express, for the sum of more than €470 M. The contract could eventually be worth €713 M, including all options. The line consists of 21 stations and will serve the aviation labour pool.
