Egis signed a new contract for the feasibility studies of Belgrade metro!

Following the signing of the agreement between Serbian and French governments, a donation was made for the realization and financing of the Belgrade metro project. The realization of this project represent the largest infrastructural investment in this part of Europe, worth EUR 6 billion

With the agreement of the City of Belgrade, Egis signed a contract to develop the feasibility studies, preliminary design and environmental impact assessment of Belgrade metro. Last years, Egis was already in charge of the General Project and the Preliminary Feasibility Study for the lines 1 and 2. According to the preliminary feasibility study, the Belgrade Metro will be composed of two lines (line 1: 21.3 km and 23 stations, line 2: 19.2 km and 20 stations) and will integrate four urban railway lines. This project represents in total 60km of line and 60 stations, the construction of the Belgrade metro would begin before the end of 2021.

Belgrade is one of the few major European cities that doesn’t have a high-capacity public rail transport network. After half a century of relative project, the current government is committing to the realization of this project of national importance that will allow the country to develop and stimulate its economic growth.
