Next up… the build of the First Clayton Equipment emission free Hybrid+ CBD90 shunting locomotive for Beacon Rail Leasing will commence soon.
The agreed contract is to supply Beacon Rail with fifteen innovative hybrid CBD90 locomotives along with options for a period of three years. In the fast changing environment the increased demand for lower emissions, new technology and more capacity, the Clayton Equipment CBD90 will provide environmental benefits and the cost savings in terms of fuel savings.
The 90 tonne locomotive is self-contained, with on-board batteries that can be charged through a three-phase electric supply or an on board Diesel engine which meets EU emission standards.
Clayton Equipment are the only British independent locomotive manufacturer capable of designing and manufacturing locomotives up to 150 tonnes.
