The prototype for the energy storage system of the first hybrid TER train has completed its trials on the test bench at Alstom's Tarbes site (departmental code 65), a centre of excellence for "green" traction systems. The tests have made it possible to finalise the design and start manufacturing the pre-series systems in September. They will be installed on the first experimental hybrid TER train in early 2021.
Stadler today became the employer of twelve maintenance employees and is now responsible for servicing and maintaining the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA)fleet in Northern Texas. Rio GrandePacific Corporation (RGPC) is the prime contractor in this agreement with Stadler providing the vehicle maintenance portion.
The railway specialist Railcare signs a ten-year contract with the mining company Kaunis Iron AB worth SEK 740 million. The contract will take effect from 16 November 2021 to 16 November 2031 and will replace the previous contract from 2018. The previous contract will continue to apply until 15 November 2021. Up until 31 October 2020, Railcare has performed 1400 shipments of iron ore for Kaunis Iron AB.
The Cologne Public Transport Authority (Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG, KVB) has signed a contract with the manufacturer consortium Alstom and Kiepe Electric for the supply of 64 low-floor trams.
