Talgo S.A., established in 1942 and headquartered in Madrid, Spain, is a renowned manufacturer of intercity, standard, and high-speed passenger trains. The contract, worth approx. €756 million, is composed of an initial order for 9 daytime compositions and 11 overnight compositions plus 10 locomotives, with an option to further increase of all of them.
In 2018, Talgo already supplied 35 trains to Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), which operate with complete reliability in the desert, and is responsible for their maintenance on the Haramain line.
The public railway company of Uzbekistan, UTY, entrusts Talgo with the maintenance service of its six Talgo 250 trains for ten years, for a value of around €80 million.
