Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) will order up to 20 new fire-fighting and rescue trains from Stadler following the signature of a framework agreement between the two companies. ÖBB has already placed a call-off order for the first five trains.
The partnership will accelerate global efforts to decarbonise energy and infrastructures through the design and delivery of high-quality hydrogen technologies, supporting carbon neutral measures.
Bombardier Transportation has begun the mid-life overhaul for Israel Railways’ (ISR) fleet of 143 BOMBARDIER TWINDEXX double-deck coaches. Valued at around $15 million US, this new project covers additional interior and exterior technical works to overhaul the coaches’ systems.

Stadler and the British company, Rail Operations (UK) Limited have signed a framework agreement for the supply of thirty Class 93 tri-mode locomotives. The advanced locomotives will significantly reduce CO2emissions for both rail freight as well as potential passenger transport services, underscoring Stadler’s green credentials and demonstrating its commitment to decarbonisation. Deliveries are expected to start in early 2023.
