CargoBeamer, Europe's leading logistics service provider for the intermodal transport of non-craneable semi-trailers, is entering the production of intermodal wagons. In Central Germany’s Erfurt, the company will open a facility to produce CargoBeamer’s proprietary freight cars later this year. At the site, which was used to manufacture locomotives in the 20th century, the final assembly of the wagons will initially take place.
Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has signed a historic agreement with Sweden’s national rail operator SJ to supply 25 Zefiro Express electric high-speed trains, with an option of 15 additional trains. The contract for the first firm order is valued at around €650 million.
TX Logistik AG is further expanding its intermodal connection between Leipzig and Verona. Starting on April 5, the rail logistics company, part of the Mercitalia Group (Gruppo FS Italiane), will in future operate eight instead of the previous six round trips per week between the two economic metropolises.
