Alstom's Coradia iLint hydrogen train runs for the first time in Sweden

Alstom's Coradia iLint passenger train, the first in the world to be powered by hydrogen, makes its Swedish debut in Östersund today. Alstom teams are presenting the train to a variety of local stakeholders, including regional operators, transport authorities, government decision makers and leading media, to highlight the potential of the Coradia iLint for sustainable transport in Sweden.

For the first time Russia launches the two-decker electric train on the Moscow Central Circle

The MCC (Moscow Central Circle) – is one of the Moscow transport projects. It is integrated in Moscow metro network and in the railway system. In fact, it is considered to be the 14th surface metro line. On 25 August, a two-decker electric train was launched. It will run on a test basis for 15 days until 8 September.

CargoBeamer adds Calais – Domodossola lane

The lane between Calais and Domodossola serves as the latest addition to the intermodal route network of CargoBeamer. Starting off on October 4th, trains will circle on four roundtrips per week between the locations in France and Italy. From December, the frequency will increase to six weekly trips in each direction, meaning that at least one train will run on the newly added route every day.

SIEMENS MOBILITY AND COOPERATION PARTNER VIP PRESENT “AUTONOMOUS TRAM IN DEPOT” RESEARCH PROJECT

Siemens Mobility and ViP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH successfully demonstrated a test of the mFUND’s AStriD (“Autonomous Tram in Depot”) research project at a press conference today. A consortium consisting of Siemens Mobility, ViP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH, the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT), the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM), and Codewerk GmbH began its joint research on a fully automated tram depot in October 2019. The technology is expected to be market-ready in 2026.
