LONG-DISTANCE MOBILITY: KNORR-BREMSE WINS EQUIPMENT CONTRACT FOR TALGO ECX PASSENGER TRAINS
Knorr-Bremse has concluded an equipment contract with the train manufacturer Talgo for 23 new ECx long-distance trains. From 2023, the locomotive-drawn passenger railcars will expand Deutsche Bahn's fleet for national and international long-distance services.

Stadler and the British company, Rail Operations (UK) Limited have signed a framework agreement for the supply of thirty Class 93 tri-mode locomotives. The advanced locomotives will significantly reduce CO2emissions for both rail freight as well as potential passenger transport services, underscoring Stadler’s green credentials and demonstrating its commitment to decarbonisation. Deliveries are expected to start in early 2023.

Siemens Mobility Signs Landmark MoU to Install Egypt’s First Ever High-Speed Rail System
The National Authority for Tunnels, a governmental authority under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport of Egypt, and Siemens Mobility have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) - together with the local companies Orascom Construction S.A.E. and The Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) - to design, install and commission Egypt’s first ever high-speed rail transportation system. Additionally, Siemens Mobility will be providing maintenance services. The agreement comprises a rail system with a network of 1000km, with the first being a 460km high-speed line. The order value of this initial high-speed line is around 3bn$.

Colas and Parsons to extend LRT line in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada)
As part of the Marigold Infrastructure Partners consortium, Colas (managing partner) and Parsons Inc. have been selected by the City of Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) to design, build and finance the Valley Line West LRT project. The contract value amounts to 1.7 billion Canadian dollars (approximately €1 billion), divided as a 50/50 partnership with Colas as the lead.

Bombardier’s joint venture wins contract to build 16 new Chinese standard high-speed train cars
Global mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation announced today that its Chinese joint venture, Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd. (BST), has been awarded a contract from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (CHINA RAILWAY) to supply 16 new Chinese standard high-speed train CR400AF cars for China’s evolving high-speed rail network.
