Digitalization and automation for driverless regional trains

In a project that will run until the end of 2024, Siemens and 16 partners will facilitate advances in the driverless operation of regional trains with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI). Within the “safe.trAIn” project, which the German government is subsidizing, there is a budget of €23 million available for this task.

CargoBeamer operates test train between Marseille and Calais

CargoBeamer wrote history by successfully running the first ever train with trailers between Marseille and Calais. The train serves as the first successful railway line for unaccompanied transport of craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers on rail, a field CargoBeamer is specialized in. Travelling from the Port of Marseille Fos to the CargoBeamer-Terminal in Calais, the service enabled 28 units to be transported on sustainable rail instead of the road.

New order for 80 converters for 62 trains to Germany and Serbia. This is our contribution to sustainable transport

Over the next year, Ingeteam will manufacture INGETRAC traction converters for Stadler to equip regional vehicles in Germany and Serbia. The company will design and deliver the converters for 44 2-car BEMU FLIRT3 trains that will operate in Germany at 140 km/h and 18 EMU FLIRT trains that will operate in Serbia at a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
