Wabtec is tackling the challenge of reducing fine particles in tunnels on train networks through technology that drastically reduces friction brake emissions. Pollution – whether of oceans, groundwater or air – is one of the hot-button topics of our age. Reducing air pollution by car fumes has long been the primary objective of much research and development, and equally the issue of air quality in train tunnels is not a new concern.
Tenneco will showcase its new Jurid 847 LL brake block for customers in the rail freight industry at the 2022 InnoTrans in Berlin, Germany (September 20 – 23, stand 430 / Hall 1.2). The Jurid® 847 has been homologated by the International Union of Railways (UIC) and represents Tenneco’s second generation of LL blocks for Europe.
The European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) has issued TX Logistik AG with a single safety certificate for transports in Germany and the Netherlands for further five years.

This technological project – in the new section of Chamartín-Torrejón de Velasco of high-speed - is now completed and includes the Atocha-Chamartín high-speed tunnel. This project is key for the connection of the high-speed lines linking north and south. It provides a more convenient, comfortable and faster travel experience for travellers.
