With the TINA (Totally Integrated Low Floor) Tram, Stadler is bringing a brand new generation of trams to The Hague (NL). "The TINA tram is barrier-free, spacious and comfortable. We have tailored it entirely to a wide range of passenger needs in The Hague," said Peter Spuhler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stadler, at the vehicle presentation in The Hague. "We can't wait to see the trams entering passenger service next summer. I would like to thank HTM for their excellent cooperation and the trust they have placed in us."

Innovation for greater comfort
This is Stadler’s first ever contract for trams in the Netherlands, and at the same time HTM is the largest TINA customer worldwide. Sixty-two vehicles have been ordered, all of which are 36.5 metres long and able to accommodate 237 passengers. They feature a fully integrated low-floor drive system, with all drive, brake and chassis components located under the vehicle floor. This makes the tram completely step-free. In addition, the innovative drive system creates additional space for seats and allows for large panoramic windows, creating a light, airy environment. Multifunctional areas for prams and wheelchairs as well as a powerful air conditioning system ensure maximum comfort for passengers. The TINA trams for The Hague are designed in Switzerland and are built in Siedlce, Poland.

Contribution to mobility of the future
Jaap Bierman, CEO of HTM, emphasised: "We are pleased with the arrival of the TINA trams. They allow us to offer our passengers fully accessible and sustainable public transport. In doing so, we contribute to the mobility of the future in the Haaglanden region."

The design and production of these trams for The Hague draw on Stadler’s experience gained from other TINA tram launches, for example in Basel, Darmstadt and Halle.

Expansion of public transport in a growing region
The Hague region is growing, with the number of jobs, homes and residents steadily going up. The new TINA tram ensures efficient operation and is part of a substantial investment made by the “Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Region” in the sustainable modernisation of public transport in the region. Following a one-year period of thorough testing and commissioning taking around one year, the new trams will gradually replace the existing vehicles from 2026 on.
