Bombardier awarded contract for 40 additional FLEXITY Zurich trams by VBZ in Switzerland

Global mobility leader Bombardier Transportation and Zurich Public Transport operator VBZ have signed a contract for 40 additional BOMBARDIER FLEXITY low-floor trams for Zurich. This is part of an option from the contract awarded to Bombardier by VBZ in March 2017 for 70 FLEXITY trams with an option for a further 70. Today’s option for 40 additional trams is valued at approximately 172 million Swiss Francs (160 million euro, $194 million US), excluding VAT.

Bombardier awarded 30-year services contract for Toronto’s Finch West Light Rail Transit project

Global mobility technology leader Bombardier Transportation announced today that it has signed a contract with Mosaic Transit Partners Maintenance GP (MTM) to provide 30 years of maintenance services for the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Toronto. Under the agreement, Bombardier will maintain a fleet of light rail vehicles as well as wayside track and overhead catenary system assets for the new LRT line scheduled to be completed in 2023.

Bombardier to supply 205 new rail cars for Vancouver’s SkyTrain network

Global mobility technology leader Bombardier Transportation announced today that it has signed a contract with TransLink for 205 new rail cars for the SkyTrain network in Vancouver. The modern 5-car trains will provide additional capacity to meet the region’s current and future transportation needs. The contract is valued at $721 million CAD (565 million US, 461 million euro) and includes options for up to 400 additional rail cars.

Since the first passenger service, the fleet has grown to 88 and clocked more than 370 million in-service kilometres.

Bombardier completes the first new light rail vehicle frame for Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe

Today, in the presence of Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and the Business Unit German Cities at Bombardier, Dirk Wunderlich, the Board Members of Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (DVB) Andreas Hemmersbach and Lars Seiffert, accepted the car body shell of the first new light rail vehicle (LRV) for Dresden, Germany. Bombardier Transportation began building the first vehicle at the Görlitz site in August this year.
