This year’s “Clara Jaschke Innovation Prize” goes to Sara Valipour, engineer at the global mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation in Hennigsdorf, Germany. This was announced today by “Allianz pro Schiene”, a non-profit, independent association for the promotion of environmentally friendly and safe rail transport. Allianz pro Schiene awards the prize every year to successful women in the railway industry who shape the future of mobility with their innovative ideas.

Bombardier Transportation has signed an asset sale and purchase agreement to sell the activities of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) performed at Bombardier Transportation’s manufacturing site in Huehuetoca, Mexico (BT Ensambles México) to Motherson Sumi Systems Limited (MSSL). The sale will be conducted via, among others, MSSL’s Mexican subsidiary, Motherson Rolling Stocks, S. de R.L. de C.V. (MRS), which is part of the Motherson Rolling Stock Division, that designs and manufactures electrical cabinets, power packs and electrical distribution systems for leading rolling stock suppliers.

Global mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation has handed over the first BOMBARDIER FLEXITY tram to Gothenburg’s transit authority Göteborgs Spårvägar in Sweden. Global mobility provider Bombardier Transportation has received an order from Lower Saxony’s regional public transport operator Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG) for 14 additional BOMBARDIER TWINDEXX Vario double-deck coaches. A total of 12 intermediate cars and two control cars will be delivered, increasing LNVG’s fleet to 246 TWINDEXX Vario double-deck coaches in addition to the 37 TRAXX locomotives already in service.
