Facilities Expansion to Meet Growth for SELLA CONTROLS Rail Business
Systems integration specialist SELLA CONTROLS, has expanded its engineering and test facilities as result of the significant growth to its rail business.
SELLA CONTROLS acquired its Rail Support facility in Coalville, Leicestershire 2 years ago. Since then, growth has continued across all areas of the business with the successful award of several major projects for Network Rail, Transport for Wales, Northern Trains and Transport for London. The impact of this growth required the business to make further investment into the facilities.
With additional capacity becoming available in the business unit next to its Coalville facility, SELLA CONTROLS moved quickly and secured the unit in September 2022 doubling capacity of the Coalville site.
“We have seen significant growth across the rail business during the last five years. We have had major successes with contract awards for Network Rail Renewal programs, depot control and projects for Irish Rail. These systems require significant engineering and testing capacity. The expansion of the facilities at Coalville will provide the space we need to meet our current and future growth plans”, Roger Watson, Managing Director for SELLA CONTROLS rail business commented.
“We challenged our Senior Management Team to bring long term sustainable growth to the rail business. This has been achieved over the last five years and we see a strong continued growth going forward. Expanding the facilities in Coalville was critical to enable us to meet that growth”, Eddy Turnock, SELLA CONTROLS Owner/Director commented further.
The expansion at Coalville will provide the facility with capacity for minor assembly, engineering and testing of its rail products and solutions. Equipment already in place and under test includes new Tracklink RTU’s for Network Rail, Taffs Well Depot Control System for Amey/Transport for Wales and the Integrated Emergency Shutdown System for Irish Rail’s electrified network.
