TMH Shipped Metro Trains to Baku, Azerbaijan
TMH shipped a batch of 20 Class 81-765.B/766.B metro carriages (4 trains) from its Mytishi Plant to Baku Metro, Azerbaijan.
The contract for 60 Class 81-765.B/766.B metro carriages for Baku Metro was signed in Fall 2019. In late June the rolling stock went thought the acceptance procedures – customer’s representatives and factory specialists carefully tested all systems of the trains before shipping to Azerbaijan.
Class 81-765.B/766.B carriages feature a high level of sound and heat proofing along with an HVAC system with a built-in air sanitizer that deactivates viruses and bacteria though the UV treatment. Among other comfort features are LED lights that change their tint to reflect the time of the day, USB chargers for passengers’ gadgets, and a comfortable yet durable upholstery.
The end carriages of the trains have accessibility areas and arrangements for bikes and strollers. The open gangways make up a train’s single pass-through space allowing passengers to change cars without exiting the train. The large doorways speed up passenger flow on stations while their new lighting system signals the opening and closing of doors.
Custom for Baku Metro, the trains have a unique exterior color scheme, headlight design, and an onboard information system, translated and fine-tuned for the region of operation. The lifecycle of the trains is 30 years.
Till 2023 TMH is to ship 12 5-car metro trains to its customer in Azerbaijan.
TMH produces metro trains for Azerbaijan’s capital since 1967. Currently Baku Metro operates over 300 metro carriages, made by TMH.
