Largest Infrastructure Project of the Package of China-DRC Cooperation Put into Service
The Phase Iof the EPC road project in Kalemie, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), designed and constructed by China-DRC Infrastructure Co., Ltd. under China Railway Resources Group Co., Ltd., passed the acceptance inspection carried out by DRC’s Ministry of Infrastructure, the provincial government of Tanganyika, the municipal government of Kalemie, and relevant construction companies on October 23.
This marked that the project with the largest contract value in “a package of cooperation agreements on resource fiscalization” between China and DRC was put into service, which will play a significant role in boost local economic and social development, especially the development of tourism around Tanganyika Lake.
The China-DRC “package of cooperation on resource fiscalization” was launched by CREC together with other centrally administrated enterprises including Power Construction Corporation of China and the DRC government, with an aim to promote infrastructure construction in the African country. To date, 31 infrastructure projects have been constructed or under construction, covering 22 cities in 11 provinces of DRC. (by Lu Huaming)
