Alstom donates to CORPALIV, a corporation that welcomes and educates children with severe multiple disabilities

August 18, 2020 - Alstom Chile made a donation of $ 4 millions Chilean pesos to the CORPALIV Corporation, organization that through its free special school welcomes and educates children with severe multiple disabilities in a situation of social vulnerability and accompanies their families. The donation is part of Alstom’s social responsibility initiatives in different countries, inspired by its spirit of international solidarity in the face of the crisis that COVID-19 has generated in different institutions and communities.

CORPALIV works with children who require assistance and daily care to perform their basic routines such as dressing, eating or bathing, plus several hours a day to enhance their development and achieve small advances and achievements in their autonomy. Because of the COVID 19 pandemic, children are receiving remote educational assistance from the Corporation. However, many parents have difficulty in obtaining an income and some are not even able to provide adequate food.

"Given this situation, we have launched an extraordinary fund-raising campaign to help families and have found a positive response from Alstom. We reiterate our thanks to the company for its commitment to our social cause, whose funds will directly benefit the families of our students severely affected by the pandemic, "said Sebastián Pérez, director of Red de Amigos CORPALIV.

"We are delighted to contribute to this commendable project and to help CORPALIV improve the living conditions of many families who have the dual challenge of caring for their children and keeping their homes in such a difficult economic context as that generated by COVID-19", indicated Denis Girault, Director General of Alstom Chile S.A.

This is Alstom’s second social responsibility action in Chile during the pandemic. In May, the company donated 50 face protection viewers made using 3D printers to officials of the Family Health Center (CESFAM) Father Pierre Dubois, in Pedro Aguirre Cerda, and worldwide has provided thousands of protective equipment such as disposable gloves, alcohol gel, integral antiviral suits, eyeglasses, glasses and protectors.
