Hitachi Rail launched its new BV700 validator, the latest addition to its advanced portfolio of ticketing solutions designed to enhance the passenger experience and accelerate the shift toward more connected, frictionless and sustainable mobility.
Building on the proven performance of the BV600 deployed in 10 countries and with 50,000 units sold, the BV700 introduces new interactions capabilities for users, improved maintainability and reduced ecological footprint. The new validator integrates within Hitachi Rail's TRANSCITYTM ticketing platform — a comprehensive, interoperable solution supporting multimodal and multi-operator networks at city, regional and national scale.
A next generation validator designed for seamless journeys
The BV700 has been developed to meet evolving passenger expectations and operator needs. It offers:
- Two screen formats (5" and 7") enabling flexible display layouts and intuitive passenger interactions through touch interface
- Support for multiple fare mediums, including contactless cards, EMV (Europay Mastercard and Visa) to support Open Loop, QR codes, and emerging handsfree ticketing, such as UWB (Ultra Wide Band) and facial recognition.
- A design focused on operational efficiency and maintainability, ensuring reduced downtime and simplified servicing.
While delivering these advancements, the BV700 preserves the intuitive user experience and maintenance principles that made BV600 a global success, now in a more contemporary, adaptable and sustainable design.
Designed, engineered and manufactured in France, the BV700 underscores Hitachi Rail's commitment to local industrial expertise and world-class quality engineering.
Supporting sustainable and efficient mobility
The BV700 reflects Hitachi Rail's commitment to extended-lifecycle and circular design principles. Its modularity reduces waste, extends product life and supports future upgrades — ensuring operators can evolve their systems without replacing entire devices.
This approach aligns with Hitachi Rail's broader innovation strategy, which focuses on digitalization, data‑driven asset management and eco‑design to help customers optimize operations, reduce energy consumption and deliver better passenger experiences.
