Global mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation has signed contracts for 28 BOMBARDIER BiLevel commuter rail cars with two US West Coast transportation authorities in a procurement led by the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) in Seattle, Washington. The total combined value of the contracts is approximately $108 million US (99 million euro).
Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation has received a Letter of Award from India’s National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to build and deliver regional commuter and intracity transit trains with comprehensive maintenance services for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut semi-high-speed rail corridor under Phase 1 of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
The contract is valued at approximately 103 million euro (113 million US dollars) and includes an option for a further five years of operation and maintenance of the system. This order was signed on March 31, 2020 and will be included in the year’s first quarter results.
Bombardier Transport, a world leader in the rail technology sector, has received a firm order for 19 Regio 2N, double deck vehicles (114 cars) from the French National Railway Company (SNCF) on behalf of the Region Auvergne-Rhône Alpes. This additional order amounts to 176 million euro ($193 million US), including price escalations based on best faith assessment of assumptions, and is part of the contract signed with SNCF in 2010 which provides for the manufacture of up to 860 trains for the French Regions.
Fleet of 75 six-car commuter trains, designed and engineered locally in Australia, are already increasing transport capacity and ridership in Queensland.
