Chinese Electric Locomotive Obtains EEU Certification
CRRC’s new electric train, the China-Belarus No. 2 electric locomotive, has obtained the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) vehicle safety standard certification.
It is the first time a Chinese high-power AC drive electric locomotive will be allowed to enter the Eurasian railway market.
The locomotive was made by CRRC Datong Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC.
The China-Belarus No. 2 electric freight locomotive is characterised by its reliable technology, energy conservation, environmental protection and intelligent features.
EUU Certification
The EEU certification will enable the China-Belarus No. 2 electric freight locomotive to run in member countries of the EEU, including Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The certification tested a total of 52 machine parts, 348 functions, the locomotive’s radiation and ecological safety as well as electromagnetic compatibility.
