Alstom Training at Ajman University a Success
UAE: In February this year Ajman University (AU) and Alstom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster mutual exchange. As part of the agreement Alstom said it would provide technical training to students. Alstom has now provided an update, saying it has delivered training to 15 students to date.

The students attended a two-week intensive course. They learned about railway transportation systems as well as topics such as operations, maintenance, safety awareness, maintenance management and quality management. In particular, the training format comprised theory sessions, group exercises, site visits, videos and exams. The students will now have the opportunity to put what they’ve learned to the test. Alstom says it is making internships available for them in Dubai. Both Ajman University professors and Alstom experts will supervise the students as they progress in their real-world training.

“It’s exciting to engage with such bright local talents. We see the importance of encouraging, nurturing and developing talents, who will be leading the UAE’s railway industry in the future.”
AU Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir said:
“Ajman University spares no effort to develop students’ awareness in all walks of life, particularly about timely issues as is the case with railway industry. Such proactive and farsighted style of hands-on approach to education and training is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of AU Board of Trustees. AU has inked tens of partnership agreements to help students master all the life and hands-on skills they need pre and post-graduation.”
