Our Challenge
In the area of passenger information on the rail network, SZU is modernizing the central management system as well as audio and display systems in the SZU stations.
In the long term, the entire passenger information system at SZU will be implemented by cn-mobility. As a first step, the DiLoc|Motion AVL system will be installed. With a Command 900 interface and a VDV-454 outbound connection to the SBB data hub will be set up to locate the vehicles and associated processes.
Furthermore, amplifiers will be replaced with new technology and new templates will be created for existing display systems.
Our Solution
Thanks to the introduction of DiLoc|Motion as a central scheduling and passenger information system, Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU) can now track all vehicles and manage disruptions automatically or manually for the route network. All real-time data, such as cancellations and delays, are automatically communicated via the new data hub.
As part of our service we created a migration concept in order schedule progress of implementing our passenger information system. One key point was to develop an interface to the interlocking system in close cooperation with SZU in order to locate vehicles and communicate with in real time with overhead displays at the stations and the new converted station amplifiers. All of this happens with a connection to DiLoc|Motion.
Together with SZU, further projects are already being planned for the continuous optimization and further implementation of DiLoc|Motion. In addition, it is planned that all vehicles will be equipped with DiLoc|OnBoard to provide passengers with real-time information in the vehicles. We look forward to continuing our partnership in order to offer SZU passengers modern and up to date passenger information.
