WEGH Group Secures Four New Railway Sleeper Contracts
WEGH Group has won four new railway sleeper contracts from RFI, including a first delivery in Sardinia, reinforcing its market leadership.

With this approach, WEGH has been supporting the main Italian railway operators for over fifty years. Today, this vision is reaffirmed: the Temporary Grouping of Companies (ATI) including WEGH as supplier of monobloc CAPV sleepers has been awarded four lots of the Framework Agreement launched by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
The awarded lots cover the areas of Bologna, Turin, Verona, and Cagliari, with supply expected to begin in the last quarter of 2025. This achievement is significant not only in terms of volume but also from a symbolic standpoint: for the first time since the company’s origins in the early 1970s under the IPA brand, our sleepers will be installed in Sardinia.
Participation in these lots confirms WEGH as one of the leading producers in the Italian railway infrastructure market, recognizing the quality of our industrial offering and our ability to consistently meet customer needs.
