CRRC Ziyang Locomotives Set Off for Mozambique
The SDD1 diesel locomotive features a lightweight design, efficient cooling, modular air intake, and intelligent control for real-time monitoring, ensuring reliability and safety in Africa’s conditions.

The SDD1 diesel locomotives, independently developed by CRRC Ziyang, were shipped to Mozambique, marking the first time a Chinese company has supplied diesel locomotives to the country's railway system.
To meet Africa’s unique operating conditions, the SDD1 diesel locomotive incorporates numerous technological innovations and adaptive enhancements, such as lightweight optimization design, an efficient cooling system, a newly developed corrugated louver structure, and a modular air intake unit. Additionally, the locomotive features an intelligent control system that enables real-time monitoring and precise control of its operation status, significantly enhancing its reliability and safety.
This batch of SDD1 diesel locomotives will be deployed for passenger and freight shunting operations in Mozambique, providing strong support for the country’s railway transportation.
