THK Presents New Guide System: CurviLinear Wheel Guide
Robust metal rollers with integrated double-row angular contact ball bearings ensure exceptionally smooth movements of the guide carriages at speeds of up to 5 m/s.
With the CurviLinear Wheel Guide, THK introduces an innovative guide system specifically developed for precise and smooth movements on linear and curved rails.
The Curvilnear Wheel Guide is offered in two versions: guide rails with fixed radius featuring a standardized curvature, and a multi-curvature type adapting dynamically to various track layouts. Corresponding guide carriages are optimized for these two variants:
- Carriage for fixed curvature: Four optimally arranged rollers allow almost backlash-free and uniform movements on both straight and curved rail sections. Due to the eccentric mounting of rollers, clearance can be finely adjusted during installation or maintenance, ensuring optimal contact with minimal play or slight preload.
- Multi-curvature carriage: Equipped with pivoting axes between paired rollers, this guide carriage automatically adapts to different rail curvatures, including S-shaped tracks.
Both carriage types offer a load capacity of 1950 N each. Curved rail segments are available in radii of 75, 150, and 300 mm, and in segment angles of 90° and 180°. Combined with linear rails available in various lengths, the system provides engineers extensive application possibilities, particularly for transport and feeding tasks.
