Premium Power presents 10kW Railway AC/AC Variable Frequency Drive VDX-10K

Premium Power introduces the VDX-10K, the advanced three-phase sine-wave AC/AC variable frequency drive designed to optimize railway motor control applications. With a range of powerful functionalities, this unit provides unparalleled control and protection.

The VDX-10K offers a smooth and controlled start-up of motors through a customizable soft start mechanism. During start-up, the output voltage gradually increases from 0V to the desired level, accompanied by a linear frequency transition. The soft ramp-up slope can be conveniently configured via RS-232 or CAN Bus interfaces, allowing for precise control over motor acceleration.

The VDX-10K is a versatile railway frequency drive that enables setting the rotation speed of your motor based on the Voltage/Frequency ratio that suits the specific requirements. By default, the unit supports reverse mode, allowing to conveniently change the rotation direction for the subsequent motor start-up by applying a voltage between 15V and 143V. Moreover, the mid-power mode enables adjustment of the output frequency in V/F mode from nominal to mid-power frequency using a voltage within the same range.

The AC/AC Railway VDX-10K is equipped with maximum average power and maximum output peak current safeguards. These advanced protection mechanisms ensure the safety of the semiconductors, even in the event of an output short-circuit. Additionally, the unit features a disable function for input under voltage, providing an extra layer of security for rail applications.
