Colas Rail creates a subsidiary dedicated to traction and freight
Colas Rail is launching its subsidiary Colas Rail Traction, which will be responsible for all traction and freight operations in France.
These involve the transport of machines and work trains as well as freight.
With its rail licence obtained on 14 November 2023, Colas Rail Traction will operate to:
- better serve its internal and external customers thanks to a reliable, competitive, and carbon-free mode of transport
- continue to train, upskill and monitor drivers
- ensure the uniformity of processes and methods to continuously improve Colas Rail’s performance.
This Louveciennes-based subsidiary employs 140 people.
"With our specialised subsidiary Colas Rail Traction, we put our fleet of locomotives and autonomous equipment at the service of our customers to ensure the smooth running of our freight and traction services", explains Jean-François Milleron, France Deputy Managing Director.
