CZ LOKO to deliver four EffiShunter 1000 locomotives to DB Cargo
DB Cargo Italia, one of the European leaders in rail freight transport, has become the next company to choose EffiShunter 1000 locomotives from the Czech company CZ LOKO.
DB Cargo Italia has ordered four new diesel-electric locomotives classified in Italy as D744. The first two units will be delivered during the summer and the other two by the end of the year.
“They will be used mainly in the dense network of single-car transports, guaranteeing high quality and sustainability, and on non-electrified lines and industrial sidings. The new modern locomotives will contribute to greater reliability and safety, reduce the environmental impact in terms of noise and emissions and increase the comfort of our employees,” say Emanuele Vender and Rüdiger Gastell, General Director of DB Cargo.
He also appreciates the advantages that conventional rail transport brings, especially for customers who need low-volume transport with multiple starting or destination points.
According to Michal Schaffer, CZ LOKO's Sales Department Manager, the first contract with this major carrier confirms CZ LOKO's leading position on the European market for diesel locomotives.
“The EffiShunter 1000, in particular, is a product suitable for the needs of rail carriers throughout Europe. In Italy, our strongest foreign market, we have already sold more than 100 locomotives. This is an extraordinary number,” said Michal Schaffer.
Service and other “after sales” services are provided in Italy by the subsidiary CZ LOKO ITALIA. CZ LOKO is able to provide a full range of services in all twenty countries in in which it is active.
