SALCEF GROUP ADDS A NEW BUSINESS UNIT FOR RAIL GRINDING AND TRACK DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
The new Unit will work together with the Track & Light Civil Works Business Unit to offer integrated solutions in the field of rail grinding.
The Salcef Group has added a new business unit specifically dedicated to rail grinding and track diagnostic services. The new Unit will work together with the Track & Light Civil Works Business Unit to offer integrated solutions in the field of rail grinding, an essential part of track maintenance to correct and remove defects caused by rail operation, ensuring safe transport and optimizing the lifespan of infrastructure.
The BU has seven rail grinders, with the latest generation tools that are accurate and efficient built by SRT, drawing on the considerable experience in the railway sector of the Group’s other companies.
Thanks to high-performance systems and constant technical innovation on the part of our R&D department, SRT Vulcano series rail grinders guarantee high output, combined with extremely reliable measuring systems to optimize solutions and maximize results. They also have a high degree of environmental sustainability with low-emission Stage V engines and dust extraction systems.
As well as Italy, the grinding market also involves Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East. Vulcano HVY series trains are currently operating on the HS/HC Rome-Naples line, on the Adriatic line and on the Reggio Calabria-Battipaglia line, while Vulcano LGT rail grinders are operating on the Rome metro, in Sardinia and in Orlando (Florida), USA.
In 2022, the Group ground 1,200 km of track. By 2023, with the addition of two new machines to the fleet, production is expected to increase in Italy as well as abroad, and business is forecast to develop in new areas.
