THE LUND TRAMWAY MONITORED BY LEADMIND, INCIDENT PROOF
Swedish city tram passengers travel in 24/7 monitored units using CAF digital technology for a seamless experience.
Total control over the status of each of the units, thus circulating the new trams in the city of Lund after the inauguration in December 2020. The new trams for the city of Lund in Sweden belong to CAF's Urbos platform. LeadMind monitors the 7 bidirectional trams with 5 modules each, with the most advanced technology to ensure fleet availability.
The use of data once the units are circulating is a widespread situation. But being able to do it while the units are still under test is a huge advantage in identifying any adjustments and ensuring the reliability of the fleet.
Since the testing phase, the trams have been rigorously analysed both in real time and through advanced analytics. LeadMind, CAF ́s digital platform, has facilitated the acceleration of diagnostic times by delivering actionable insights with greater precision and quality.
For a 10‐year maintenance period, CAF Group through Euromaint Warranty and Maintenance team in Lund, is committed to promote the digital tools that allow the optimization of the predictive maintenance strategy to ensure the maximum availability of the fleet. During the warranty period the goal is to ensure service reliability, availability, safety and support the activity of Skånetrafiken.
Maintenance and Warranty team has used LeadMind for more than two years in operation, both by engineers and tram technicians in the depot for real time information and advanced analytics.
“LeadMind is visually displayed in the office, so the tram technicians have an overview of the fleet health status and all activated alarms. This allows us to react fast and efficiently in our rectification. We can often see the faults before the driver reports, thus, creating a high level of trust with the operator,” Dennis Westin, EuroMaint Maintenance Manager.
LeadMind also helps finding faults on the infrastructure and tramway. The geolocation in advanced analytics can be used to highlight tram behaviour or specific fault that is reported in a specific location on the tramway. This helps finding improvements that could be made on the tramway infrastructure to optimize the performance.
LeadMind's functionalities continue to evolve relentlessly to offer energy efficiency to reduce consumption, life and health indicators for different rail systems, diagnose faster and accurately and smart maintenance scheduling based on asset condition.
CAF continues to make progress in the implementation of LeadMind digital platform in the Nordic countries. Facilitating the operation and maintenance of the fleets through fleet management, advanced analytics and wayside systems in several projects: Oslo tram, the Flytoget highspeed trains for the line linking Oslo with the airport and the award for the Gothenburg tram to deploy wayside systems.
