MTR HONG KONG ORDERS MOBILE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM FROM ROBEL
With this investment, MTR is pursuing the goal of increasing operational safety and optimizing the limited track availability by making full use of the traffic-free working windows.
MTR Corporation Limited (MTR) in Hong Kong commissions Robel Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH with the first delivery of a ROMIS maintenance train for use on the Tuen Ma and East Rail Lines.
The two-part train consists of a storage unit and a work unit with extendable side walls that give the construction crew direct access to the track in a completely protected environment. On site, the system provides immediate construction site lighting as well as the complete power supply for operation and slow travel.
The integrated storage unit transports the crew and houses all the material and machines for the planned work. Both wagons are connected to each other by an internal crane. The system is designed to be towed from the depot to the construction site using a separate locomotive.
