The Egis Eole project awarded the trophy for "major project of the year"
The Eole project for the extension of the RER E in the Paris region, for which Egis is responsible for the overall project management on behalf of SNCF Réseau, has been awarded the "Major Project of the Year" trophy.
On Friday 24 November in Mumbai, the International Tunnelling & Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES), which has 79 member countries, awarded the prize in the top category, "Major Project of the Year", to the Eole project. The assessment focused in particular on the project's safety record, its level of complexity, the scale of the challenges faced and its innovation.
As a reminder, Eole involves the extension of the RER E line by 55 km to the west of the Paris region, including the construction of a new underground section between Haussmann-Saint-Lazare and Nanterre-La Folie. A major mobility project for the Ile-de-France region, as 700,000 passengers are expected to use the entire line every day.
In a consortium with SETEC TPI (leader) and Dutilleul agency, Egis is responsible for all the infrastructure and systems of the new line, which includes 3 new stations, 8 km of tunnels and 9 service structures, under the project management of SNCF Réseau.
A first place on the podium for this exceptional project, which bodes well for the final section and the opening of the line before the 2024 Olympic Games!
