TMH Shunters Joined Severstal’s Corporate Fleet
TMH PRO (TMH Industrial Solutions) shipped a batch of Class TEM18DM shunting diesel locomotives, produced by TMH in Bryansk, to Severstal steel mining company.
Throughout June 2021, the customer received eight Class TEM18DM locomotives. Seven of them will operate at Cherepovets Steel Mill and one joined the fleet of Karelsky Okatysh, a major iron ore mining complex.
As requested by the customer, the locomotives for Cherepovets Steel Mill were equipped with an automatic start-stop system. The system is integrated with the engine’s cooling circuit and can manage the temperature of the cooling agent without driver’s attention. It can automatically start and stop the engine of a locomotive when the temperature rises or drops to set points. This helps maintain the operating performance of a locomotive in the cold time of the year.
Class TEM18DM are produced by TMH at its Bryansk plant since 2007. Throughout the 14 years of production the locomotives proved their efficiency at railroads of Russia and abroad. They are in demand at various industrial operations and perform well at hauling, yard, and shunting operations, demonstrating reliability and ease of use and maintenance.
Class TEM18DM are sipped to Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. A total of over 1500 machines of this class are currently in operation inside and outside of Russia.
