SALCEF INVESTS IN THE GERMAN MARKET

The acquisition of Verwaltung und Beteiligung Nord GmbH, the main company of a German rail industry group, will be completed by May. This industrial group includes Bahnbau Nord GmbH, a railway construction and maintenance company based in Henstedt-Ulzburg.

Together other group companies, Bahnbau Nord is one of the best-known businesses in northern Germany. The Group, which employs around 100 employees, recorded average consolidated sales of around € 17 million in 2018-2020. The net financial position was approximately €2.7 million as of 31/12/2020.

This acquisition confirms Salcef’s successful growth strategy on foreign markets. In 2020, through its subsidiary Salcef Bau, the Salcef Group recorded revenues in Germany of € 24.3 million for track works and infrastructure projects largely commissioned by the rail network operator Deutsche Bahn.

As a result of Bahnbau Nord’s complementary activities, important synergies can be developed with Salcef Bau. The Salcef Group intends to strengthen its presence on a railway market characterized by impressive development projects, supported by the German government’s approval of over €86 billion in railway sector investments over the next 10 years.
