SPL Powerlines UK delivered the London to Corby electrification project – the largest project of the Powerlines Group to date – safely on time

PL Powerlines UK, a 100% subsidiary of Powerlines Group and ENGIE Solutions, is pleased to announce that the London to Corby electrification project for Network Rail has been implemented safely. The successful project implementation proves Powerlines capability as system supplier in railway electrification and the expertise of the group of companies in large scale project management

SPL Powerlines UK delivered the London to Corby electrification project – the largest project of the Powerlines Group to date – safely on time

Contracted in 2017, London to Corby has been a multi-disciplinary project involving collaborative working with a number of contractors and complex site access and operating arrangements. The £300 million contract covered the electrification of 192 single track km including more than 2300 foundations, 3240 OLE structures, the installation of 8 substations, a total of approx. 900 km of wire (OLE, RSC, fibre, LV/HV) and a total length of steelwork for OLE structures of 38 km as well as 350 design submissions.

ENGIE Solutions and Powerlines Group are working to guarantee a more efficient transport system, to increase the attractiveness of public transport, the most environmentally friendly mode of transport. The successful completion of the London to Corby electrification project is a perfect proof.
