Alpha Trains has extended its long-standing partnership with Alstom by signing an extension of the Global Service Agreement (GSA) for the full-service maintenance of its TRAXX locomotive fleet.
Originally signed in 2021 for a duration of eight years, the agreement has now been extended for another 10 years and will run until 2039. The contract now covers the maintenance of more than 100 TRAXX locomotives operating across Western and Central Europe.
The extension of the GSA marks a significant step forward in the long-standing partnership between Alpha Trains and Alstom. Since the partnership began, the number of locomotives maintained under the full-service framework has doubled, reflecting the high quality and reliability of Alstom’s service offering.
The Global Service Agreement includes comprehensive technical support for locomotives leased on a full-service basis. Customers benefit from a Full maintenance package – Alstom takes care of all aspects of maintenance, corrective and preventive servicing, monitoring spare parts, and repairs. This “one-stop-shop” solution allows operators to focus on their core business while Alpha Trains ensures maximum reliability, safety, and availability of the locomotives.
Alstom’s well-established Europe-wide services network, with sites and depots along main corridors, will continue to provide a strong backbone for both preventive and corrective maintenance services for the TRAXX locomotives, supporting operators’ performance.
Vincent Pouyet, Managing Director Locomotives at Alpha Trains, commented: “The extension of our Global Service Agreement with Alstom underscores the excellent cooperation between our companies. Over the past years, Alstom has proven to be a reliable and high-performing partner, enabling us to offer our customers superior fleet reliability, availability, and efficiency across Europe. With this extension, we are securing long-term operational excellence for our TRAXX fleet.”
Francois Jegousse, Alstom Head of Services Business Development added: “This latest contract extension with Alpha Trains is a significant milestone for us. It reflects our customer's continued trust in our services, and we are proud to be recognised as a long-term service partner.”
