The project, which will rally together around 60 employees, is scheduled for completion in June 2026.
The scope of work includes:
• Track surface renovation on selected sections;
• Inspection and adjustment of the overhead contact line over more than 300 km;
• Track tamping over more than 300 km;
• The modernization of level crossings, including dismantling, reinstallation of panels, and replacement of damaged elements.
The project is fully aligned with our CSR standards, supporting decarbonization of transport, improving safety, and improving accessibility for passengers. It will also enable higher train speeds of up to 140 km/h for passenger services and 100 km/h for freight, while adapting the infrastructure for longer and heavier trains.
Beyond the technical upgrades, the modernization will deliver significant economic benefits: a 40-minute reduction in travel time between Wrocław and Szczecin, more competitive freight logistics, greater line capacity, and improved access to the ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście, strengthening Poland’s position as a logistics hub in Europe.
Olivier Wendling, Colas Rail Europe Managing Director said, "This contract reflects Colas Rail’s commitment to supporting clients in the modernization of their railway infrastructure, combining performance, innovation, and sustainability. Our teams are fully dedicated to delivering a project that will benefit both passengers and the economy of the region."
