Vectron locomotive approved for operation in Denmark

The AC version of the Vectron locomotive received official approval from the Danish safety authority “Trafik-, Bygge og Boligstyrelsen” for operating in Denmark. The approval marks an important milestone for the commissioning of 42 Vectron locomotives ordered by Danish State Railways (DSB) from Siemens Mobility over the last two years. The first three locomotives will be delivered in September 2020.

Siemens Mobility to install CBTC on Jurong Region Line in Singapore

Siemens Mobility has been awarded a contract of approximately 135 million Euros by the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) to install an automatic train control signaling system and half-height platform screen doors on the Jurong Region Line (JRL).

Mireo Plus decarbonises Europe’s railways

One of the reasons railways are the ‘greenest’ form of transport is that it is relatively easy to power trains by electricity – from overhead catenary or contact rails. However, electrification isn’t always viable for regional or local routes, and Siemens has developed a new platform which allows operators to fully decarbonise these operations efficiently and economically – Mireo Plus.

Michael Peter to be Siemens Mobility’s sole CEO

Michael Peter will be Siemens Mobility’s sole CEO, effective July 10, 2020. Sabrina Soussan, who has been his Co-CEO until now, will leave the company at her own request to take on a new challenge outside Siemens AG. Until her contract ends on December 31, 2020, Ms. Soussan will remain available to Siemens Mobility in an advisory capacity.
