Based in the German city of Mainz, infraView focuses on the development of digital solutions to monitor, evaluate and analyse rail vehicles and other associated infrastructure assets.

DB Engineering & Consulting chairman of the Board of Managing Directors Niko Warbanoff said: “Working together with infraView’s specialists, we are broadening our expertise to encompass more digitalisation topics.

“We translate the opportunities and potential that digitalisation offers for infrastructure and rail vehicles into advantages for our customers in Germany and around the world.”

Prior to the acquisition, infraView supplied the DIANA diagnostics and analytics platform to DB.

Connected to more than 20,000 switches, the DIANA diagnostics and analytics platform is one of the largest digital switch diagnostics platforms in the world.

The platform enables intelligent diagnosis, allowing the operator to carry out predictive maintenance of infrastructure and vehicles.

It is said to reduce the number of switch malfunctions by up to 50% and improve the reliability of railway operations.

Last month, another DB subsidiary DB Station & Service extended its video surveillance contract with euromicron Deutschland by three years, with the option of an additional year.

The contract requires euromicron to deliver and install video surveillance systems at long-distance train stations.
