FEIG presents the new UHF Long Range Reader ID LRU4000

FEIG ELECTRONIC has launched the LRU4000 and LRU4000X two variants of a new high-performance UHF long-range reader. The reader family has been specially developed for demanding applications in industry and logistics – so you can now play in a completely different league!

The devices are particularly characterized by robust mechanics and a durable electronic design. This ensures a long service life and availability of the device. The lifecycle costs are close to zero, just 100% quality – Made in Germany. For a quick connection of the connection cables, the LRU4000 has cable glands. This simultaneously seals the housing and provides strain relief. This makes it suitable for use in a wide range of applications. The LRU4000X convinces at this point with M12 circular connectors, which makes it predestined for use in industrial environments or on vehicles of all kinds. For connecting external antennas, the devices each have four robust R-TNC connectors. The number of available antenna connections can be expanded by using external multiplexers. This means that even complex applications, such as intelligent shelves, can be implemented cost-effectively.

Both device variants have been tested in accordance with the applicable standards for use on rail vehicles (EN50155). They can withstand extreme environmental influences, such as strong vibrations or temperature fluctuations.

Maximum read range for efficient processes
As a stationary long-range reader, the ID LRU4000 reliably identifies UHF transponders over a distance of more than 10 meters.
The high reception sensitivity combined with high interference immunity ensures precise data acquisition – even with fast-moving objects or many objects to be detected in parallel. This reduces error rates, optimizes logistics processes and increases transparency in the supply chain.

Flexibility and easy integration
With four antenna connectors, a 2-watt output power and a wide range of mounting options, the ID LRU4000 flexibly adapts to any application. Whether on conveyor belts, truck access roads or industrial plants – the device can be mounted directly on surfaces or DIN rails, chassis or VESA mounts. With PoE support, the LRU4000 also offers another power supply option.

Plug & Play – Quickly ready for use
With Ethernet (IPv4/IPv6), USB and RS485, the ID LRU4000 can be easily integrated into existing IT infrastructures. The intuitive web interface allows for easy configuration, while features such as “Config Cloning” make it much easier to set up multiple devices.

Robust for indoor and outdoor use
Thanks to its IP65/IP67 rating, the LRU4000 resists harsh industrial conditions, dust, humidity and temperature ranges from -40 °C to +70 °C. Built-in diagnostics protect the device from overheating, short circuits, and antenna mismatches. This ensures maximum operational reliability with minimum maintenance costs.

Smart control and secure data processing
The newly integrated edge computing platform with Linux operating system makes it possible to install and operate individual and customer-specific software solutions directly on the device. This allows you to implement your own applications, process data locally and reduce network loads. In addition, the system supports the secure storage of application keys.
