Transporeon and RCG extend their cooperation

Transporeon, a Trimble company, and RCG, Europe’s leading rail logistics provider, have announced an expanded collaboration that extends their joint services to include new rail corridors.

Customers can now shift their transport operations to less CO2-intensive rail and multimodal chains, in which the long-haul distances are covered by train and the first and last kilometres are handled flexibly by trucks, ensuring convenient delivery to and from the customer’s desired location.

Three corridors for sustainable change
The following new rail corridors and routes are now available to customers:

Eurasia
  • Belgium – Western Turkey
  • North Rhine-Westphalia – Western Turkey
  • Central Hungary – Western Turkey
Central Europe
  • Lower Saxony – Veneto
  • North Rhine-Westphalia – Veneto
  • Eastern Austria and Hungary – Veneto
East to West
  • Central Serbia – North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Western Romania – Belgium
Real-time tracking and emissions calculation made easy
Users of Transporeon’s transport management platform can easily access their RCG transports and benefit from an unprecedented amount of high-quality data. The top features include real-time tracking (real-time visibility). This allows shippers to track their rail shipments in real time via the Transporeon platform using telematics. Transporeon also offers a calculation of the CO2 footprint according to CountEmissionsEU.

A collaboration for the future
The cooperation with Transporeon is in line with the European Union’s goal of doubling rail freight transport by 2050. By enabling an integrated end-to-end supply chain, Transporeon and RCG are ensuring that rail freight and multimodal transport can be handled just as efficiently and conveniently as road transport.
