Alstom welcomed around 20 members of the Swedish Riksdag's Traffic Committee to its Test and Technology Centre and workshops in Västerås on 21 May

During the visit, among other things, new smart solutions to develop the Swedish railway infrastructure and the need to speed up the digitisation of the railway were discussed.

In Alstom’s “Power lab”, test capacity for e-mobility solutions was demonstrated for different types of transportation modes. Several new solutions and innovations for improved performance (e.g. lower energy consumption, lower noise levels, less weight) in railway were presented.

The politicians also got to see the maintenance depot "Lokis", where damaged train carriages are repaired with great skill by Alstom's technicians, where ongoing maintenance takes place and where trains are modernised for an extended life cycle, and thus all important activities performed by Alstom to keep the train fleets running.

Participants from Alstom were: Maria Signal Martebo (MD, Alstom Sweden), Henrik Junkrans (Services Sweden), Fredrik Owman (Site MD Västerås), Magnus Forsén (Services Engineering Director), Johanna Svedin (Communication Director Nordics), Ivan Bradetic (Tender Leader), Gaël CHOSSON (Innovation Station Manager), Ahmad Fathjalali (Customer Director), and Daniel Östlund (Commercial Director, Nordics).
