LKAB Malmtrafik has renewed its contract with Railcare relating to iron ore transports which continues until 31-12-2023, with a one-year option. The value of the contract during 2023 is worth approximately SEK 40 million.
We have been hoping for renewed trust from LKAB, and it is very pleasing that we have now received it. In this contract we also have the opportunity for an extension during 2024, commented Mattias Remahl, CEO Railcare Group AB.
The iron ore transports will run between Svappavaara-Kiruna and Svappavaara Gällivare. They will begin as soon as possible and will gradually increase until the summer. During the second half of the year, this will change to three rounds per day, which is the same as previous projects.
