4th Wheel Detection Forum: The Future of Train Tracking

Under the motto “The future of train tracking”, the fourth edition of the Wheel Detection Forum will be packed with presentations, discussions and reports on proven as well as future technology. About 250 leading experts are awaited to join the forum in Vienna. Thereby this will also be the perfect possibility for networking with senior decision makers from all over the globe.

The future of train tracking is all about providing valuable information to operators by detecting and tracking trains and events. The conference will focus on state-of-the-art solutions based on wheel detection, axle counting and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), as well as alternative tracking technologies.

The four keynote speakers will highlight specific topics that are connected with these trends, each in an individual manner. Jörn Schlichting and Philipp Bührsch from DB Netz AG will present their professional views on “ETCS deployment in Germany”. In view of digitization, Hannes Stefko from IBM will then talk about “Cognitive pattern computing in big data”. Finally, Dietmar Dahmen, visionary and innovation expert from Austria, will frame these topics by his presentation on “Becoming a master of change”.

On the second and third day of the Wheel Detection Forum, no less than 17 more speakers will give presentations on the following subjects:
