The construction of the MCD’s infrastructure includes complex sections

Kurskaya-Kalanchevskaya is the hardest site of the railway construction in Moscow. It takes place next to the residential buildings and touches the underground communications laid earlier.

The goal of the project is to build 4 new tracks for D2 Line and for the future D4 Line and to construct a large hub. Kalanchevskaya station is located near the metro and the 3 largest Russians railway stations (total passenger traffic exceeds 120 million passengers per year), so that will significantly reduce time for the interchange. During the whole construction there will be a reverse movement on the 1 track which will provide train traffic in both directions. The work on this site carries out 24/7. In spring 2020 during the lockdown in Moscow the passenger traffic was minimal that enabled to carry out the extensive work on the site and reduced construction time by 2 years. The previous project handover date was 2025 now it is 2023.

The length of the railroad is 4 km, which is a relatively small construction site. There will be noise shields and welded tracks installed through the whole site thus it will reduce the noise level by 30%.
