SWISSRAIL presents its groundbreaking record project in the InnoTrans Podcast
A new episode of the InnoTrans Mobility Podcast is due to be broadcast on 9 March.
In this second episode the guest will be Michaela Stöckli, director of the Swiss rail industry association SWISSRAIL. With more than 100 members, SWISSRAIL is an important driver of future transport policy developments in Switzerland.
Switzerland leads the way in rail infrastructure
According to a data survey by the World Economic Forum, Switzerland has the world’s best railway infrastructure, closely followed by Japan. In the podcast interview Michaela Stöckli will talk about the Swiss rail industry’s latest successful project and its significance for Europe. The prestigious Ceneri Tunnel project was completed in September 2020. As an important part of the transalpine NEAT route it offers numerous possibilities for optimising goods and passenger transport.
“The opening of the Ceneri Tunnel in September 2020 marked the completion after 20 years of Switzerland’s largest rail project, which cost around 23 billion Swiss francs. It was subsequently commissioned as part of the NEAT. The new transalpine route across Europe with its main level section in Switzerland aims to make transporting goods from Rotterdam to Genoa more efficient in the future, and above all more climate-friendly. The companies of the Swiss rail industry whose combined expertise was responsible for this epic feat can hardly wait to present their products and services at InnoTrans 2022“, said Michaela Stöckli, director of SWISSRAIL.
InnoTrans Podcast series becomes a regular feature
Following the first episode of the new communication format of the world’s leading transport technology trade fair, the podcast will provide listeners with monthly insights from the mobility sector until the start of InnoTrans 2022.
“As trade fair organisers we are always moving with the times. The high level of international interest in our podcast has convinced us to continue the format until InnoTrans in September 2022“, said Kerstin Schulz, director of InnoTrans.
Episodes of the InnoTrans Podcast are available here. The third episode of the InnoTrans Podcast will be broadcast on 13 April.
