TMH TO PURCHASE ROLLS-ROYCE’S MANUFACTURING PLANT IN NORWAY
TMH’s international subdivision – TMH International – and British Rolls-Royce Group plc reached an agreement to purchase a middle-speed diesel and gas engine manufacturer Bergen Engines, located in Bergen, Norway.
Bergen Engines’ assets in Norway include a machine shop, an assembly line, a precision foundry, a service shop, and a design bureau. The company also incorporates a service network in 7 countries of the world.
Acquiring Bergen Engines, TMH International intends to expand TMH’s presence on the world market of engines, primarily gas engines for autonomous small-town or industrial power plants.
It is expected that the synergy of engineering and industrial capacities of the manufacturer from Norway along with the Russian diesel-manufacturing capacities will catalyze the implementation of the strategy of zero-carbon emissions.
Since its establishment in 1946, Bergen Engines shipped over 7000 engines, 5000 of which are currently in service. Today Bergen Engines employs around 900 people.
